Yesterday, I had a chance to wander among students getting ready for their Citizen Schools Wow event, and WOW was really my reaction.  And I thought about what an incredible communal effort it takes to build students to that point, and take them beyond it, and reflected on how truly fortunate our students to have each of you in their lives.
Thank you for everything that you do!  Best wishes for a deeply restful vacation and abundantly joyful holiday season!

You and your team OUTDID yourselves tonight!  Nearly all 350 chairs in the cafeteria were filled, Richard's dance routine, amazing.  The kids presented in a more confident manner than I've ever seen, and the enthusiasm was contagious.  Even the information boards for each apprenticeship had a much more professional look about them. To think, you double in students and staff, and quadruple in quality.   I realize I don't know a fraction of the work that goes into a night like this, and you deserve a giant congratulations.   Please pass on my huge commendation to each of your staff.  Well done! My daughter has been here since 5^th grade and I want you to know that this is an amazing program…It makes me wonder where this was when I was a kid…You've been around almost 15 years?! You should have started going out of Boston after 5 years! This needs to be across the nation. (parent)

Leading apprenticeships has allowed me both to teach and to learn from the inspiring and dedicated students in our community, an opportunity that I probably would have missed were it not for Citizen Schools.
