New Managing Director of Program Joins Citizen Schools North Carolina
Citizen Schools North Carolina recently welcomed a new Managing Director of Program, John Sylvester. We are thrilled to have John on the team! John has served many roles in the education field, including education consultant to the Virginia Department of Education, assistant superintendent for Buckingham County Public Schools, coordinator at the Math Science Innovation Center in Richmond, director of technology for Dinwiddie County Public Schools, and educator in Henrico County Public Schools. Originally hailing from Virginia, John most recently served as president of EdTech, where he oversaw all PK-12 public, charter, and private school educational consulting operations.
As Managing Director of Program in North Carolina, John will lead the region’s strategy for student achievement by supporting program staff across the state and continuously improving program execution.
“I’m excited to join Citizen Schools and the North Carolina team,” said John. “The organization has proven results that set students on a path to graduation and my hope is that we’ll be able to build upon those results to make high school graduation and college success a reality for even more students in North Carolina.”
Welcome, John!
