Two new leaders appointed to Citizen Schools National Board
This fall, Danielle Wang, Vice President of Bain Capital and Kristy Cunningham, Chief Marketing Officer of Bright Horizons Family Solutions joined our National Board. Danielle and Kristy are joining a vibrant, diverse group of Citizen Schools advisers and champions. When selecting board members, our Governance Committee looks for a diversity of experience in professional background with a deep belief in our mission.

Danielle joined Bain Capital Private Equity in 2013. She is a Vice President and member of the Portfolio Group, where she focuses on portfolio companies in the Consumer Retail and Healthcare verticals. Danielle received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. Before business school, Danielle was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company for two years. As an undergraduate, Danielle attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she received a BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a minor in Biology. “I am in awe of the amazing impact Citizen Schools is creating by bringing real-world, practical, and hands-on learning to all students,” says Danielle, “I look forward to joining this inspiring group of change leaders and to helping bring the magic of Citizen Schools to more students!”
Kristy joined Bright Horizons in early 2019 as Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth and Chief Marketing Officer. Her previous roles include SVP of Strategy and Insights at McDonald’s Corporation and Chief Marketing Officer of Hess Corporation, as well as 13 years as Partner at Bain & Company in the retail and consumer practice. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School, Kristy lives in Massachusetts with her family. Kristy is an avid supporter of helping children and families reach their potential, and shared that she is “excited to join the National Board after having been involved with Citizen Schools in three different cities over the past decade. I look forward to helping Citizens Schools continue to grow and impact the lives of students and volunteer citizen teachers.”
