When asked what motivates him to serve as Citizen Schools’ Board Chair, Bing shared: “Public education is at an inflection point. Our students need deeper engagement. They need to understand how to connect learning to professional opportunities. Public education needs more hands-on learning. At the same, we need to more deeply engage surrounding communities for solutions, resources, and talent. Over the past 30 years, Citizen Schools has been at the epicenter of designing solutions with communities that are responsive to all of the aforementioned needs. Working with our amazing board and Citizen Schools team, I look forward to supporting the organization as it evolves to meet the shifting needs of students, communities, schools, and systems we are here to support.”
Bing’s academic journey reflects his commitment to education and leadership. He is pursuing an Ed.L.D. at Harvard Graduate School of Education (expected 2026) and holds a Master’s in Urban Educational Leadership from the Yale School of Management (Broad Residency).
