Celebrating our members for AmeriCorps Week
AmeriCorps Week is a time to salute AmeriCorps members and alumni for their service
It is a time to say ‘Thank You’ to our AmeriCorps community partners, and communicate AmeriCorps’ impact on communities and on the lives of those we serve. Each year during AmeriCorps Week, Citizen Schools and the Corporation for National and Community Service recognizes the commitment of AmeriCorps members and alumni by highlighting the remarkable impact AmeriCorps makes across our nation, every day.
OUR IMPACT TO DATE:
Of the 1 million citizens who joined AmeriCorps since 1995, approximately 2000 of them have served/are serving through Citizen Schools
Of the 1.4 billion hours served by AmeriCorps members, Citizen School AmeriCorps members have contributed over 4 million hours of service since 2004
Citizen School AmeriCorps members have impacted over 143,700 students
Citizen School AmeriCorps member have supported the organization with mobilizing over 30,673 community volunteers
Citizen School AmeriCorps members have earned more than $5 million in Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards to help pay for college or pay back student loans
This year, AmeriCorps Week fell on the 2nd week in March (10th - 16th) and each region personalized their thank you’s/ celebrations locally and nationally we ran an Instagram challenge in which members were able to participate in daily challenges which encouraged them to reflect on their own experience, appreciate each other, and have a bit of fun! Although we celebrate our AmeriCorps members throughout the year, AmeriCorps Week is a great way share the love, thoughtfully, across the entire network!
