Citizen Schools joins effort to recruit science teachers

Today, it was announced that Citizen Schools has joined a multi-sector mobilization of organizations, including NASA, Google, Intel, J. P. Morgan Chase, Stanford University, and the The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to prepare, deploy, and support 100,000 excellent STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) teachers over the next ten years. The "100Kin10" initiative is already gaining momentum, and last week, President Obama reiterated the imperative: "[Our future] demands that we give every child the skills and education they need to succeed. And I thank you for the commitment that you made to recruit and train tens of thousands of new science, technology, engineering, and math teachers. Nothing could be more important."
