Taking Care of Business at the Van Buren Middle School
It’s not every day that eleven Bank of America employees show up to a middle school to teach students how to run a successful business, but at the Van Buren Middle School in Albuquerque, New Mexico it happens every week. Led by volunteer Citizen Teacher Daniel Vasquez, the “Shirt Shack” apprenticeship teaches students about the aspects of a business model where each apprentice takes on a role in either operations, research or marketing. Apprentices developed several design ideas for the t-shirts and used data from their market research to pick the final design to go to print. Apprentices are selling their final products to fundraise for Citizen Schools and have already raised $250!
Congratulations apprentices and Bank of America Citizen Teachers!
