MLK Day of Service

On Monday, January 20th, our Teaching Fellows joined the legions of AmeriCorps members  honoring Dr. King’s legacy with a National Day of Service. The day, known as “A Day On, Not a Day Off,” is dedicated to improving our communities. 

Massachusetts Fellows split into two project groups. One group served alongside 500 other volunteers at Boston Latin School at an event organized by Boston Cares. Another group spent the day at one of our program sites, East Somerville Community School, assisting with a Somerville celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. All Fellows and the Citizen Schools staff members who joined them reflected on a meaningful day of supporting their local communities!
