Kicking off the Giving Season
When the Black Friday sales are over and the Cyber Monday deals expire, we invite you to participate in Giving Tuesday. With Thanksgiving right around the corner we at Citizen Schools have so much to be thankful for. Our volunteer Citizen Teachers, partners, family, staff, donors and our students have joined us in our mission to close the opportunity gap in America. We couldn't do it without all of you.
On Giving Tuesday, November 27, we celebrate all the reasons to give during this special season. Jennifer Sandidge, Scientist at Merck Research Laboratories and two-time Citizen Teacher chooses to give to Citizen Schools. Here's why...
Name: Jennifer Sandidge Company: Merck Research Laboratories Location: New Jersey Citizen Teacher Number of Apprenticeships Taught: 2 Apprenticeship Titles: Solar Cars & I Scream, You Scream
Why I give: I chose to support Citizen Schools because I can confidently say that the program helps the students who are involved. Volunteering as a Citizen Teacher for two apprenticeships gave me hands on experience with the students. Over the course of the semester you see firsthand how the students are impacted by the program. The WOW! confirms that every hour you spent working with your students has paid off.
Why it made a difference: As a former Citizen Teacher, I realize that effective apprenticeships are a combination of great teachers and resources. By donating I’m helping to provide the resources that the students and teachers need to have a productive semester.
Jennifer Sandidge is changing lives this giving season. Whose life will you change when you give? Support Citizen Schools.
