Citizen Teacher: Isha

Even when apprenticeships turned virtual, Isha was ready to tackle the challenge of teaching Python to students. Using Google Colaboratory as the platform to display the coding program, we offered lectures and hands-on exercises to introduce basic print functions, variable naming, and conditional statements. The last two weeks of class were dedicated to project work, in which students could create their own basic business model and assign theoretical monetary values to their goods and services. While students did not complete the project, they were given a coding template and had the opportunity to see Isha provide several examples of her own during the last two classes.
