Teaching Fellow: Mr. Glass
Our students completed a range of projects prior to the pandemic and during. Our amazing scholars explored Capital One Coding Academy, Fashion Studies and Design, Illustration, comic book design, marketing via skit making, history of origami, poem studies and physical wellness. All of these projects cultivated healthy creative outlets for students and exposed them to experiences essential to their development.
Capital One Coding Academy gave students the opportunity to learn principles of coding and access an online education platform to practice their new skills. In Fashion studies, scholars explored different fashion icons and learned hands-on skills like sewing, dyeing and vinyl cutting. Through illustration and comic book design, students were able to write and draw their own personal stories, gaining skills in time management through tracking progress of their artwork. While learning about Marketing, students collaborated with one another to create a product they had to sell via commercial advertising, researching target markets and surveying. In History of origami, students discussed an animal, tradition or food and made it out of paper. During Poem studies, Mr. Glass read a poem to the students and broke it down in discussion afterwards. In Physical wellness, Mr. Glass led the students through a workout and explained the benefits of each movement.
