In this apprenticeship, Joe and Amanze from Fidelity aimed to give Argenziano students the skills to become financial advisors to themselves, friends, and family. Students made several exciting trips to Fidelity in downtown Boston in February, and were able to work on financial literacy skills surrounded by financial professionals.

When COVID-19 changed our plans for this apprenticeship, the Fidelity volunteers offered to take lessons online. Every other week during lockdown scholars met with Joe for more “Secrets of a Millionaire”. These Virtual Learning Hours included a lesson on stocks and bonds, how to begin investing, and a Game of Life in which students practiced applying the financial literacy skills they learned to real-life decisions such as whether to choose higher education after high school, how often to buy a new car, and how much they would spend on the hobbies they love like travel and video games.
